Wonderland, Family, Happiness

After a very hectic few months, I am here.  Planning to sit down and really start to blog.  I want to get serious about blogging.  I just completed a blogging assignment and loved it.  I had so much fun.  I hope to get many more.
The past few months were hectic because I, along with Glenn and my mom were planning my step-daughters sweet sixteen SURPRISE Alice in Wonderland (as she requested) theme party.  The stress of having to co-ordinate this "story" and that "story"...whew...but when all is said and done.  She was totally surprised, and had fun.
The Church we attended graciously allowed me to use the space there.  We created Wonderland in the Fellowship Hall, Moving Watching in the sanctuary and Croquet playing on the front lawn.
My wonderful beautiful amazing mother made over 200 tissue paper flowers to create Wonderland, even gluing some google eyes on the flowers.
Over 75 flowers in these bags ready to go

My amazingly talented wonderful Glenn who hand-drew the picture of the door and definitely helped cover the home front when I was off running here and there.
Isn't he amazing!!!

We all dressed up!! My Mom the White Queen, My Nanny was the White Rabbit, My youngest two daughters were tweedle dee and tweedle dum from the original movie and absolutely adorable if I do say so myself.  My eldest daughter and step-son were tweedle dee and tweedle dum from the Tim Burton version.  I made their tutu's myself.  I of course was the Red Queen and Glenn was the Mad Hatter.
The guests dressed up as the cards, the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatters, the White Rabbit, etc.. It was awesome!!
My awesome and crazy wonderland family!!

I LOVED throwing the surprise party, infact I love throwing all sorts of family parties, gatherings etc.  I thrive on it.  My cousin is convinced I have a business in the making, I am not so sure.  Perhaps a confidence issue, but I am definitely open to it.  We received compliments on the decorations, the food and the overall feel.  WOOHOO.  Success.
Only three sweet sixteen birthday parties to go.... :)
I was down yesterday, sad, :(
but I am back to me.  Today is going to be a good day and you know what so far it has been.  I make it that way.  Got up did my AM Yoga, felt great, just keep reminding myself TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY.  It makes me happy, and those around me happy too.
I am about to write in the notebooks I have for my daughters to let them know just how much I absolutely love them.
Sending out prayers to my friends and family who I know need them right now and anyone who has taken time to read my crazy blog thank you and I wish you happiness and peace.
Peace
Michelle

DIY products-Finding my true purpose :)

I have been nothing short of ADDICTED to Pinterest.  What an amazing site.  I have already made so many of the DIY cleaners and am very happy with the results:
Here is the list.....
  • Multi-purpose cleaner
  • Stain remover
  • Laundry detergent
  • My new favourite is the floor cleaner...I will NEVER use anything else again...WOW
  • Hair detangling spray for the kids
I have so many other DIY things I want to try and why not, good for our house, good for the Earth and HELLO saving a TON of money.

I have so many things that are going on right now, and sometimes feel like I just need to sit and say ahhhhhhhhh...but like most Mommy's "our time" is really not ours, and truth be told I wouldn't change it.
I am heading downstairs to continue the never ending laudry pile, not really complaining, I am one of those rare birds that actually really likes doing laundry....we all have our "things".
Blessings to all, peace and joy.
